So, the kitten is named Micah Patter. (Don't ask, my oldest sister named him over the phone, since she's got all girls and no boys and loves that boy name and has to name my pet apparently. Like Pitter Patter, kind of patter) He's very friendly, except he has a very odd sleeping schedule. Whenever I close my eyes, he seems to want to be up and playing. He also likes to curl on my shoulder, when I'm sitting. Or even moving around. I don't know if that's a bad thing, or not, to let him do.

Speaking of my family, two of my sisters (the twins, Hannah and Madeline) are going to be visiting at the end of the month. I'm not sure how excited I am about this - it's been awhile since I've seen them but sharing a bathroom with them again will drive me insane. We'll see.

So, I broke down and got myself a kitten. too bad Azra isn't here to help me figure out what I know you aren't really supposed to get pets for the holidays, but I think I am responsible enough for a holiday pet. He's black and pretty curious about everything. I've been looking up stuff on the internet about how to take care of a cat, but really I have no idea. He is just pretty sticking to my bedroom and kind of ghosts out after me if I go to the kitchen for food or whatever.

Does anyone know how to take care of a kitten? I've got food and toys and whatever the shelter guy gave me.

here's a picture )

And I don't have a name for him yet, but I figure it'll come to me soon.

Attention former residents of the UK (especially those without current holiday plans):

Spencer came up with a good idea for drinks on Thursday, for those who wish not to celebrate this turkey nonsense. So I propose Molly's on 3rd at say, three? They're the most traditional pub I've been able to find since I've been here. Friendly, as well.

I suppose Americans are welcome to join in, but well, we reserve the right to make fun of you all night if you do join.

I love Paul Rudd. I love SNL more. But I really do love Paul Rudd.

I also love that JJ has separated the poster tweens from the real news. How am I supposed to keep up with celeb news when these Disney and Nickelodeon kids are taking over crap? I actually feel kind of bad for them, until I realise that they have millions of dollars for appearing on television and going to events and owning cars they can't even drive yet. What happened to child labour laws?

Different topic: Black Friday.

What sorts of shopping plans of attack do you all have? Do any of you have goals or secrets to surviving the mad rush and not getting trampled for the last pair of shoes?

I need help coming up with a costume idea. I know, its Tuesday before Halloween, but I have no clue. I thought I might be able to figure out what I could be, but honestly, I've got nothing.

So, help?

Tuesdays are much more nefarious than Mondays.

So I was cutting across W 47th near the Plaza Arcade (I know, jaywalking, how criminal) and I nearly got clipped by this bike messenger. They are completely out of control sometimes, serves him right for having a stripe of dirty water up his back. Anyway, I get across the road and I'm cutting through the buildings because I'm sort of late and its the quickest way to get back to here, and I stop near some scaffolding to wait for the road to clear on the the 48th side and a bucket of water falls on me.

Not just regular water, but window cleaning solution dirty water. Lucky, I keep a spare shirt in my closet of office space, so I've got a clean shirt on, only I smell like ammonia. What a great cock up, I really liked that shirt too.

And this is why you have to watch out for Tuesdays, they sneak up on you after you think you've finished with Monday.
